Inebriated boys and girls created scene in public forcing the police to intervene.

In an unusual scene, boys and girls in inebriated condition were lying on the streets. They had come out from a nearby hotel where the party was arranged for about 50 youngsters. The invitees had also come from Sangrur, Longowal and Muktsar.

Eyewitnesses said that the trouble arose when someone tried to click pictures of the youngsters partying inside the hotel. Some of the boys objected to it which resulted in arguments. Police was called to control the fracas. Seeing the police many youngsters ran away. However, some of them had consumed too much alcohol and they stumbled and fell on the busy street inviting sniggers from the passersby.


A girl was heard screaming obscenities at the policewomen, asserting she was the daughter of a police officer. They were dragged to the police vehicles and later taken to hospital for medical examination.
Police had rounded up ten boys and girls who were in inebriated condition
