[Webhosting Review] Dreamhost.com - Hosting

I had been with dreamhost.com for almost as long as I can remember. Back then I wasnt aware of what quality is lost when being offered a big bulk of resources.

[Uptime]

My websites mysql goes down more then I usually notice. About maybe 4-5 times a week. The website itself sometimes goes down, maybe 1-2 times a week.

Cant really expect a lot of quality with the costs.

[Speed]

Site speed, it is fair enough. My websites load in a decent amount of time, Although I never get to use the 2 TB of bandwidth I have, as for some reason it slows down almost like a cap.

[Service]

Service is decent, I send tickets and recieve responses from 20 minutes to maybe 1 day.

[Control Panel]

Its a good design, although its a bit of a bandwidth hog you shouldnt expect any less from a CP. It has many features and options, though it doesnt outway the downtime I recieve.

[Overall]

Dreamhost, was good when I first signed up. Quality has diminished over the duration of my stay. It seems they oversell the server space and now I become a part of it. For the quality and service I recieved.

In the end, its a good host but a bit too much downtime. Im going to be moving to another one, for the cost its not worth it for the downtime. Plus I never get a chance to use the resources given. Its still worth checking out, if your a bit oblivious to what occurs around you when at this host.

I've had similar experiences with Dreamhost. They are a good host, don't get me wrong but they lack a few things and do have problems with downtime. They have more problems than an ISP should have. Not sure why...maybe old servers or too many customers.

I wish they would have a type of reseller interface on their Panel. This would make things much better but oh well. I guess no one is perfect.
