They prepare a game of action in first person for the new generation.
Following with its policy to reach great agreements, with Iron Man and the Dark Matter like last profits, Sega has announced today an agreement with Twentieth Century Fox by means of who it takes control of the rights to produce videojuegos based on Alien, the saga of action films and suspense.
Multiple titles are in preparation, among them a game of action in first person and another one of roll, both in phase of pre-production and with launching anticipated for year 2009.
“As resulting from the work of Fox during the pasts 27 years, Alien has become one of the recognized marks more within the cinematographic industry,” declares Simon Jeffery, President and COO of SEGA of America, Inc. “SEGA will use the power of the new sysgen to combine the history that is enthusiastic to the fans with the new technologies to provide a full jugabilidad of emotion, adrenalin and suspense.”
“Alien is one of those special sagas who even continue being a success after letting appear in the screen. The program of Licencias and Merchandising has been everything a success during the last years because we have chosen to associate to us only with the best companies within each category, thus creating products that excite the loyal followers of Alien,” adds Elie Dekel, Vice-president Ejecutivo de Fox Licensing & Merchandising. “We are wishing to collaborate with SEGA, a mark leader within the sector of the videojuegos, to extend this program and to take it to the new sysgen of entertainment.”
This is not the first time that Alien makes appearance in the world of videojuego, with multiple deliveries on the adventures of the lieutenant Ripley and the universe created by the four films. The last title in preparation, Alien: Colonial Marines, was cancelled in 2001.
