Default Install programs to phone or card memory?

Hi,

Can anyone enlighten me the pros and cons of installing programs to phone and card memory?
I'm using a M600i with 1GB external memory and installed all programs to phone.
Will it make the phone slower?
I read from some other forums that programs should be installed on the card.
Is this correct?

Thanks.
Sorry if I'm asking a stupid question.

to be honest, i only have one application installed on my phone memory! that's ADL.. but that's because the Phone Memory of my P990i is only 45mb so, i installed them all on my memory stick which is 2 gig ... now i don't think it will slow down your phone. since SE phone uses separate ROM for the software itself..

Hi,

I tried installing the same app into both phone and card memory.
Didn't notice any speed difference.
Are there any benchmarking tools for UIQ3?
Thanks for the advice.

Another question: How do you set SIM to be the default contacts in M600i?

I strongly recommend installing all apps on the card... You need your phone memory especially when you are receiving large files via Bluetooth (e.g. video or music files). Beamed files are saved in messaging by default, this means that it uses your phone memory to temporarily save those files.

Hope this one helps a little.

if you use the bluetooth file mod available in this forum this is not an issue. there is only one really good reason to install apps n the card and thats not to fill the phone mem up. i have installed gdesk and other necessary apps on phone so when the phoneis connected in file transfer mode the apps are still available.
