Smile Avatar and Signature Creation Tutorial Part 4: Animated Rain Effect

    Programs needed:

Paint Shop Pro (JASC not Corel)
    Eyecandy 4000 Plugin
Animation shop 3 (Comes bundled with Paints shop pro 9)

Step one: Create your blank template "500 x 100 for signature" (As shown in previous tutorials)

Step two: Create a new graphic 1000x1000 and colour the background "Black" or any Dark colour of your choice.

Step three: Open the eyecandy 4000 plugin filter "Fur" (Effects / Plugins / Eye Candy 4000 / fur)

Step four: Opens this dialogue box

Make sure that all the settings match those shown above paying close attention to the "Direction" setting (This will give that driving rain effect).

When all the settings are correct click "OK"

Step five: drag this new graphic onto your signature template.

Step six: click the add layer button on your layer properties panel (Or right click in the topmost layer and select "New Raster Layer" and this will be your Text Layer.

    Add your chosen Text.

Step seven: Set the "Blend" property of the new layer to "Dodge" and set the "Opacity" of that layer to 12%

This will make your Sig look like this

Step eight: Use your layer move tool

To reposisition this new layer so that the bottom left corner of the new layer is in the bottom left corner of your Sig Template (THis is so that you can move the layer downwards and to the left diagonally to produce the raining effect).

Step nine: Save this frame as "Frame 1" in a new directory / folder to keep them all together.

Step ten: Move the "fur" layer diagonally (Down and Left) slightly using your "Layer Move" tool, and resave as "Frame 2"

Repeat Step ten until you reach the saved file name "Frame 10".

Now you can launch Animation Shop 3 either by going to "Start / Programs / JASC Software / JASC Animation shop 3" or from inside Paint Shop Pro 9 by clicking "File / JASC Software products / Launch Animation Shop..."

To create your animation from the 10 frames you created simply follow the directions in tutorial 3 on how to use "ANIMATION SHOP 3" to add and save your new animated Sig and Hey presto you have your animated rainy effect sig ....

PS... Set the frame properties to 10/100th os a second by selecting all frames and right clicking on any one, then from the menu select "Frame Properties" and there you can change the display interval to "10"....

    Hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
