Adobe Lab releases Standalone Flash Lite 3 Player Without IMEI for Nokia S60 3rd Edition Mobile Devices

Adobe Labs has released a new public version of the standalone Flash player for all Nokia S60 3rd Edition mobile devices. Unlike the initial beta, this version of the Flash Lite 3 is not locked to the serial number of the device. Therefore you don’t have to provide your IMEI number to download the installer.

This installer only supports standalone content and cannot be used to view SWF files that are embedded in a mobile web browser or to test any type of personalization content such as wallpapers or screensavers.

While only Nokia N95 has been certified for use, technically it should work with all S60 v3 models as per the FAQs such as:

Adobe Flash Lite 3 Developer Edition

The Flash Lite 3 Developer Edition is a standalone player for supported mobile phones to allow developers to test their Flash Lite 3 applications before commercial devices start shipping with the full version of Flash Lite 3 pre-installed. This installer only supports standalone content and cannot be used to view SWF files that are embedded in a mobile web browser or to test any type of personalization content such as wallpapers or screensavers.

This download provides the Flash Lite 3 Developer Edition for Nokia N95 (non-US 3G version) devices; however, technically it should work on any Nokia S60 3rd edition or later devices. Adobe has not certified Flash Lite 3 Developer Edition on any other Nokia S60 3rd edition devices and cannot guarantee that the player will work on them.
