Works it excellent, after 4 hours spent by PC I finally instaled Garmin Mobile XT to my N95, downloaded Mapsource CNE NT 9 on PC then map of CZ uploaded to N95 and run it with built-in GPS without problem. I used only frist page (first post) to success install. But I think that Tom Tom Mobile has much more better detailed maps (CZ as well). Garmin very very poor but Tom Tom however still donīt go with internal GPS.

you see people, just read and do it step by step.
i know there are difrents maps, but still if you get garmin to work with the internal gps then you should get the map also too work.
if you can't get the internal gps working try to read better (.txt)

    good job rektor

Using my N95; when I create Waypoints in MapSource, and use "Send to Device", when I open XT in N95 and import, it seems like the all points gets the same coordinates, and all shows at the same, wrong place.

For that matter - what setting should be used, Sweden Grid, RT90, in both XT and MapSource, as I have now..?

I am not sure how you are doing this?

I tried to replicate you prob using Euro NT 2008 & N95

it seems you can add Waypoints to the MY LOCATIONS pois with out over righting

just made 11 Waypoints in UK and Ireland set them on Mapsource transfered to N95 in Data Transfer mode

Open Mapsource right click Create WAY POINT on the map where it is required fill in details close so it saves
do that for all the Waypoints you want to save

You can also save locations on the XT and import them to Mapsource and edit them

ONLY tick the BOX for Waypoints because if you have NOT selected a MAP it will wright a blank map so you will just have the BASE MAP That could be where you had a problem????

Safely Stop USB conn remove cable Start XT the 1st thing it ask it the GPX file is new DO YOU WANT TO IMPORT yes

Browse map all points are correct

Not all SYMBOLS in Mapsource are available in XT eg the Contacts Faces and animals just show as a blue square remedy Manage my data on XT change symbols to one that are there
As for what setting?? Don't change anything Load the map as is just make the Waypoints on Mapsource and load as they are
Changing the datum will move the GPS signal on the map DON'T change the grids Just load the map and the Waypoints will make its own co ordinates such as N54 24.554 W1 43.433
The grid does not matter Unless YOU ARE COMPARING THE MAP to a paper map say of specific detail and you are using Grid Refs But it seem unlikely you would need to do this as it only really matters where there are no features middle of a dessert or at sea You would only need the matching grid for copying a grid ref like 5667,3445 onto the GPS Normally points are placed at roads or near a feature marked so you can copy them after all this is a Road Map mainly
Just because you are in a particular country You no not need that grid The map is just the same

Below is for using the POI Loader in the Custom poi file for csv etc speed cams an imported pois You CAN NOT import the Pois sent to the device with POI loader

i have explained B4 YOU CAN NOT ADD TOO as it over rights

If you send one poi now then another later it will over right the 1st poi file

You must 1st RECEIVE from device your pois already on it
Add your new POI to the list then transfer them back as a batch

You can not just ADD an extra 1 or many to the pois all ready there

The same with maps If eg you has Sweden then decide to add Denmark it will over right Sweden with Denmark IF you LOOK in the GARMIN FOLDER you only see the ONE img file

The Correct way would be RECEIVE from device All MAPS
Sweden will be then in the map list add your extra Map Denmark to the list then Transfer all back as a batch. I know its slow and a pain but thats HOW it works

I don't know if this is YOUR problem but it may help some one else if not

    Thank you for helping out!

My problem is the coordinated the waypoints gets. If i make a waypoint at N61,55555 E19,55555 it only becomes in N95 a waypoint at N61 E19 when transeferred! Seems like all decimals are gone..

Datum/grid setup problem, or just me doing it all wrong..?
    Appreciate your help!

Check settings on XT/ system /browse down to last 2 "Location format": hddd*mm.mm-m' and "Datum": WGS 84 these are the default

Check mapsource /Edit/ preferences/position this should be the same as XT Lat Lon hddd*mm.mm-m' Datum": WGS 84

The two sytems must match I would set both on default but if you do change one the other MUST MATCH see 3 post back at my attemp at explaining
Have you tried the right click Create new way point at a point on the map I end up with this N54 24.519 W1 43.362 in a box edit the name by all means but not the N and W
Choose a symbol from the drop down list
    use Symbol and name

    Save it export to map
restart XT it should NOW ask b4 for it loads to import the point YES

Browse map is the WAYPOINT in the correct location ON THE MAP it may edit the decs eg round up 4.675976 to 4.68 but if it is the correct place on the map It wont matter LOL

and setting JUST USE ALL default I trust you are using a mapsource map?

Try the other way round browse map on XT on N95 save a location it will store it in My Locations export run mapsource and tranfer receive map and waypoint in and have a look at it see how it shows it on the mapsource Should be the same

Good reply Superg, but read my post better :1 read rules: . I wrote "Garmin works with built-in GPS WITHOUT problem with installed City Navigator NT 9 (not BASE MAPS)" It means it really works. Tom Tom doesnīt go with inetrnal GPS still. But if you have already Tom Tom rel. 7 which will starts perhaps in April 07 -> CONGRATULATIONS :000a4:
Only my opinion : Tom Tom has more detailed maps than Garmin, thatīs all.
Of course when I forgot ext. GPS I will use Garmin, thatīs true.

I use dafault settings, and now use Lat Lon hddd*mm.mm-m' Datum": WGS 84 on both MapSource and XT.

If I make a waypoint in XT, export to file, recieve from XT in MapSource, it's the same problem - it won't get the decimals.
Same thing if creating a waypint in MapSource - original created point is good, but transferred becomes i.e. N61 00000 instead of N61 23423. All points created within the same area as for the first to numbers, N61 E17, for example, get the same position on the map even if decimals changes at every point (when created).

I use garmin MapSource Map, yep.

    Hm..
