.sis --- You mean to say you can open symbian stuff on your PC?

.nbu --- This is a backup file. Simply open with a backup Program

.bin---- Image Files, Try magiciso, Daemon tools etc

.vmg---- Try this [Only Registered users can see links . Click Here To Register...]

The problem with your PC is that you changed the file extensions with a different program, or you uninstalled the program that was associated with them. See you around!

All im saying is that instead of taking so much pain to modify / download all extensions etc and do things like that and create more probs for a perosn who hardly knows about computersetc and do things like that,...isnt it possible to have one solution to all similar kind of probs...

As per you, do u think some imp file from c/windows has got deleted?

Pls let me know what can be done as its a real headache to go about individually on every extension
to find the root cause and then solve the prob.

Oh no...
Evn i thought so that there is some virus at first...

So just 3 days back i purchased and installed quick heal plus 2008
(licensed version)

I scanned the whole system twice..
it found only 2 quarantined files...

Now what is to be done to remove the malware??

The main problem is that you messed you your registry and you dont have any back up of it coz you have switched off your system restore..Now i advice you to back up important files from C drive [or whatever drive your Windows is installed] and simply format the drive..Format only the drive your OS is installed and not all the drives..After its down everything will come to normal..Now check the system restore and if its working and create a restore point so if such things happened and you even turned off the system restore thevery first restore point will be present there..

And for futher registry cleaning software use either
1.Tune up utilities
or
2.Regcure
or
3.Ccleaner
