O-FONE's first Symbian SIP client is a stand-alone mobile-phone SIP client for end users featuring standards-based Presence, high-quality voice in multiple codec formats, and an intuitive, simple user interface.

High-quality Voice:
The client includes support for leading audio codec technologies that support adjustable rate, error correction and silence suppression.

O-FONE Symbian client displays Presence information using the widely adopted SIP SIMPLE protocol (Session Initiation Protocol Instant Messaging and Presence Leveraging Extensions).

Presence features include:
Presence subscription, publication and notification using SIMPLE Presence
Peer-to-Peer messaging and chat (RFC 3428)
