Green Explorer works with its partners to provide sustainable tips and advice on how to live green and travel clean. You can share your experiences and ideas here and help make a world of difference. The service is designed to help you decide where to go, how to get there and what to do when you’re there. The idea pushes the environmental aspect by trying to provide small solutions and actions which when combined have a greater impact on the environment.

Green Explorer provides information on a range of travel issues including tips on the most sustainable methods of transport, eco-friendly places to visit, and a way to offset the CO2 emissions from your trip if you have to fly. It is also a place for travellers to share advice on a range of issues from the best routes to where to find organic food or recommendations for the best eco-friendly hotels.

Green Explorer is already a public beta service available at greenexplorer.nokia.com. There are more partners and more user generated content coming as the service develops. Join the community and start contributing!

Note: at this beta phase, the service hasn't been integrated with Nokia Account yet

    Who is this service for?

This service is aimed at travellers who would like to have a more authentic, eco-friendly, and place-based experience while away from home. In today’s highly mobile world, people are travelling more and more. Whether travelling for work or for pleasure this service is targeted towards those who are choosing to live their lives in the most sustainable and eco-friendly ways.

    Where is this service available?

Currently this service already has eco information covering about 30 countries and travel information on almost 3000 locations. In addition, eco travel guides are available for 10 of the world’s most well-travelled cities. We are currently expanding this and it will eventually have global coverage. User created content can already be added to any country/city. The service itself is accessible globally, from your PC or mobile device at greenexplorer.nokia.com.

Why would I use this service?

In comparison to any other sort of travel guide on the market, this offers people the freshest, most up-to-date information, accessible from a mobile device, which can enrich trips and at the same time lessen your impact on the earth. This information will be generated by people with a similar mindset that values sustainability, thus forming a community. This service enables consumers to connect with one another, exchange information and give guidance, and communicate about more sustainable ways of travelling.
