    Mobile RSS Reader v1.11.2 rc2




    The free RSS feed reader is a cell phone (mobile) J2ME/PhoneME MIDP application that is able to read most RSS servers/feed versions. RSS is a lightweight XML format designed for sharing headlines and other content like blogs and news. Data is stored on the device and updated on request. Read Wiki documentation for more details on which program to use.Add RSS feed bookmarks. The program can be compiled/built/run entirely with either proprietary or FOSS (Free and Open Source Software). Features include

    * Parse RSS feeds
    * Browse RSS feed headers
    * Read topics
    * Read all unread/read topics
    * Supports ISO8859_1, windows-1252, UTF-8 , and UTF-16
    * Update all/updated feeds with single command
    * Open item link or enclosure in device browser (On supported devices)
    * Save on exit or request
    * Import and synchronize RSS feed lists from internet or phone memory

    Change Log :

    * Allow optional retrieval of previous (last) values used by the previous add bookmark and import feeds.
    * Do redirect for see other status from HTTP.
    * If the feed name is changed with edit feed, remove the previous one.
    * More logging.
    * Fix logging typeos.
    * Use less finals.
    * Use printStackTrace in catch.
    * Redirect for HTTP other status.
    * Combine nested if's.
    * Get file only in URLHandler.
    * Remove unused variables.
    * Allow descending feed sorted for headers/river of news.
    * Remove empty if statements.
    * Put parsing of feed from bookmarks in separate thread to prevent hang if the internet is not accessible (or someone selected the wrong access point).
    * Better logging form info.
    * Change final modifiers for methods/classes.
    * Conditional get with last-modified or ETag.
    * For MIDP 1.0 create GMT date string as JVM does not have to make toString give the date.
    * Trim title, description, and link.
    * Allow 3 redirects for getting to a feed.
    * Allow name/title for bookmark/feed to be up to 100 bytes long.
    * Better error message if problem loading edit bookmark.
    * Log imported feed for import current with test.
    * Fix 1.11.2 not recognizing data from 1.11.1.
    * Better tests for equals to show more differences.
    * Allow compatibility testing for the previous rms version layout.
    * Put ascending/descending as last command.

    RSS Reader is a mobile Java MIDlet J2ME (Java ME) application that runs on Java enabled mobile (cell) phones and devices. User can store multiple RSS/ATOM feeds as bookmarks. Feeds can be imported from OPLM file or HTML file with links. Can read offline.
