Thread: Solution to run Flash lite 2.1 apps for Flash lite 2.0 phones

  1. #1

Thumbs up Solution for "Flash content error" on S60v3 flash lite phones

If your phone comes installed with Flash lite 2.0, it wont allow you to install Flash lite 2.1 on most models coz flash comes as built in. Read on.

First of all, most of the Flash 2.1 applications will run in 2.0, but not all I think.

If you get flash error while trying to run a flash application(.swf file), do this

    1) Install [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] if you dont have it already. Other file managers may also work. Will test and post results.

    2) Run X-Plore and find where you installed your flash application - on phone or memory card. On memory card, flash apps usually get installed to 'data' folder, unless you copied it manually

    3) Once you've found ur app., just run it from there. It should work.

This method will work for sPlus ITheme and many others.

Before you try the above method, update your phone's firmware as new firmware versions often come with upgrades and Flash lite 2.1 may be included with it.

    Cheers,
    Simon

If you have a newer phone, you cannot set default application for a file type anymore. You can run flash apps in Flash lite 2.1 this way:

Open 'Flash' (flash lite 2.1 player) and then select the '.swf' file

Default Open by default in FlashLite 2.1 from a link!

I hvae Nokia N73 which has FlashLite 1.x by default. I have also installed FlashLite 2.1 and can view the swf files from it. but when I run any flash swf from any web link it opens in FlashLite 1.x; can somebody let me know the technique to open it in FlashLite 2.1.

Thanks a lot in advance for looking into this.
