WidSets takes the hassle out of staying up-to-date, by delivering the very latest information that you are interested in, directly to your fingertips.
WidSets is all about enjoying web content on the go through widgets, tiny-apps that bring services and information you normally use on the web, to your mobile phone.
Create a widget set and enjoy the freshest news, comments to your blog, or newest posts in your favorite discussion group as soon as they're published, without having to visit each site every day.
Quite a few of you have already heard of widgets, little virtual tools that you can use to read the latest news, check out weather forecasts, or view the latest TV or movie entries, among other things. If you haven't, believe us, they really do the trick - they're a great way of staying on top of things and getting up-to-date information.
In fact they are so useful that we created WidSets, a service that lets you use widgets in your cell phone. This way you get to enjoy easy and convenient access to services and information wherever and whenever you want to.
And as there are hundreds of widgets being developed every day, from simple RSS feeds to picture blog viewers, we suspect that you won't get bored any time soon. And to make things even better, we made it possible to create your own widgets, think of new things they can do and personalize the way they look on your cell phone - and it's all easier than using a fax machine. Trust us.

F.A.Q's:
How much does WidSets cost?
WidSets is absolutely FREE of charge as a service. And we definitely want to keep it that way.
Keep in mind though, your cell phone operator takes care of charging for data transferred to your phone, i.e. for visiting websites or using data services such as browsing the Internet. And therefore, whenever WidSets conveniently gets information directly to your fingertips, you may be paying for it.
The costs depend on the agreement you've made (or possibly haven't made yet) with your operator. You'll be best off giving your operator a call to find out about data transfer costs. Please pay special attention to this when roaming, that is when not using your own operator's network, for instance when traveling abroad - data costs can be significant to say the least, so it's definitely worth looking into this beforehand.
WidSets has a useful feature called Traffic Monitor, which helps you monitor how much data WidSets is using in total and how much data is used by individual widgets. There is also a limit you can set for the data transferred by your widgets - we'll send a notification to your Widsets-widget on the cell and let you know when the limit has been exceeded.
What do I need to start using WidSets?
Not much, really. You'll need access to the Internet and a cell phone with support for Java MIDP 2.0. If Java MIDP 2.0 doesn't really ring a bell, please check out your cell phone's user manual or the manufacturer's website.
You also need to set up your cell phone to be able to connect to the Internet. You'll typically need to have a data plan for your cell phone in order to do this. If you have ever received a picture message or game to your phone, you can be pretty sure your phone is already set up to connect to the Internet and ready to use WidSets. If your phone is not set up with Internet access, please contact your network operator for assistance. Coverage may also differ depending on your carrier and phone.
If all that sounds overly technical, don't sink into despair. You can always give it a try and sign up for FREE to the service, try to download the WidSets client to your cell and follow the installation instructions. If it starts running, you can be pretty sure your phone supports WidSets and you'll be laughing in the face of technical jargon.
Which phones support WidSets?
The best way to find out if your cell phone supports WidSets is to download our application and some widgets (hey, it's free, so why not), and try it out. The rule of thumb is that you'll need to have a cell phone that supports Java MIDP 2.0 (most mobiles sold in the last couple years fit this description) and it will have to be able to connect to the Internet. It should also have a color display that is bigger than a stamp. As a summary:
Java MIDP 2.0
128x128 color screen or higher
You should have access to the Internet from your phone
We are constantly adding support for new devices, but with all the new phone models and all our new widgets coming out continuously, we'll never be able to test every widget, on every available cell phone model, on every special carrier variant of the phone, on every carrier network. Therefore, we really want to hear your feedback on how WidSets is working (or not working) on your cell phone model. Please leave some feedback in our Forum and we will do our best to help you out - and maybe the answer to your questions is already there.
