Noeman Forum Upgrade : Feedback

As I'm sure you have noticed, we are running on vBulletin 4 now. This thread will be to address any issues regarding that.

First off... search doesn't work. vBulletin 4 uses a new system for search and the drawback to it is you have to rebuild your search indexes (500k posts worth), so it will take awhile. For now, you are probably going to have to use Google search:

It great to see that our forum was upgraded
The VB version 4 is amazing

We all knew that we would have some bugs, but step by step all problem will be solved

There is the serach machine as you said (the bug with the search is that the results are showed but only the posts after the upgrade) and the posbit legacy too

Thanks for the upgrade Chaotix, was this related to the downtime yesterday? I have one suggestion that may benefit our international users - installation of some language packs. From my day with VB, I understand you could download language packs which change all core language labels to different languages for users from non-native English backgrounds. This might also help navigating around the new interfaces. Secondly, can we have a mobile skin again please? I sometimes visit noeman over 3/3.5g so this would help not eat my bandwidth.

Edit: I get a permission error when visiting the site root ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) Could a redirect with .htaccess be put in place to redirect to the forum or can the portal be enabled?

i agree the upgrade is fantastic - for now the reputations are not displayed on the profile where the member have posted!
question: do we have only one forum style (skin) at the moment??? only the turbo-skin is visible to me!

First of all thanks for upgrading
I'll test for a while before giving feedback
I suggest to Symbian mods to eliminate threads updating and tell members to post every release in a single post to make it easier to search them.

no sorry I searched UCWEB in s60v3 section and this is the result


just 2007 threads

I had to correct my maps index coz it was messed up--links was'nt correct
btw the site is faster than before--so much faster

The system is still Rebulding and indexing the old posts/threads to the new version , so by time you will get more results .
