And to add another point. Football in the UK is a mans game. Played by men.
Vinny jones, Chopper Harris, the Charltons. You know the ones. If any of you were at school before competitive sports were banned you'd know how it goes. Coach puts the fast boys up fronf and the big bruisers at the back with the fat kid in goal.

This was the shape of Mud sweat and blood football.

This was also a time when corporal punishment was still used to instill discipline and respect for authority. Ref Said stop you stopped.

Then in came the Europeans with their girly hair, shaved legs and pretty boy looks, lightweight balls and huge salaries.

Add to this a generation of people who consider themselves too big to respect authority.

Wussy little boys who roll around on the floor as if performing for an oscar.

Modern Cameras Every where that catch every thing

There we have it the modern game

There can never be too much punishment for those who lack discipline and respect for authority. You watch any rugby game. The Refs don't mess about and you pay the consequences if you bad mouth them

Yes players should be red carded for verbal abuse. Its about time the players showed so respect.

Default grey area

Lets get one thing right football is not meant to be an aggressive sport, just some individuals can`t be sperated between committed and aggressive.
Red cards are like fads in real life. once the authorities are told to follow the letter of law, a referee will hand them out like confetti.
I believe foul and abusive language should be given a yellow card unless the personal attack is so damming.

its useless whether you give a yellow, red blue green orange purple black card....they will still curse referees...

its just a matter of whther its during the match, after the match or behind the refs
