Sounds like more problems for the Japanese Electronics Giant.
I hope they sort out their production problems or there could well be alot of unhappy consumers come the PS3 launce day.

I'm starting to feel sorry for Sony, they are really taking a bashing at the moment...
It's almost comical the amount of problems they have, I mean not having enough lazer diodes is a big problem that means less machines... When I think of the employee's and the stress they are under I wonder how many mental breakdowns there have been at Sony in the last 6 months... Come on Sony get it together!!!

Blu Ray is set to replace DVD as the media of choice the largest discs at the moment are 50GB but obviosly the players are limited to the slower speeds of around 1-4 due to the new technology... For game developers this is a big plus because they no longer have the limitations on storage they previously had and for movies there is no longer that double layer transistion and you won't see double discs anymore not to mention whole series on one disc and extra bonus content... Blu Ray was needed because of the demands of our technology nowadays more information is required for those Crystal clear HD (High Definition) pictures that will be used on PS3 & most Digital T.V. Satalite systems from now (SKY In England) and generally by next year... XBOX360 already has a HD function... (It has 6 cables that connect to the T.V.) Blu ray is not the only new media that is set to overthrow DVD though the old school DVD has now evolved into HD-DVD this is being backed by several big players the next big thing... The Hardrive is also a contender and will work by downloading via the internet whereas the Blu Ray Discs & HD-DVD you will need to insert and eject... I feel that the constrains of a hardrive will be it's downfull though especially when they somehow work out how to write to bluray (Some P.C.'s are already coming equiped with blu ray drives) It's gonna be a strait battle between the HD-DVD & BLU RAY Discs
