Default PSP Firmware Upgrade - 3.80 M33 and 3.80 M33-2

.
I upgraded my PSP a while ago and it works fine ....

I tried the Internet Radio using the wi-fi in our office and man .... it's great ....

Here, try and experience the Internet Radio (you need to download the player I and II once you have connected to the net)

(Just be careful not to make any mistake ... )
.

UPGRADE TO PSP FIRMWARE 3.80 M33
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

REQUIREMENTS:

- Installation requires a fully charged PSP with firmware 3.52 M33-3 or higher.
......... (NOTE: Upgrade is strictly an M33 version... don't attempt if your unit is not an M33 version)
- This instruction refers as X=Enter and O=Back.

UPGRADE INSTRUCTION:

FROM YOUR PC:
- Download and unrar the PSP380m33-Base.rar to any folder
... Download here at maxishare --> [Only Registered users can see links . Click Here To Register...]
... Download here at sendspace --> [Only Registered users can see links . Click Here To Register...]
- Connect your USB cable from PC to PSP (then select USB Connection on your PSP)
- Create a folder named UPDATE under /PSP/GAME/ (PSP Memory Stick)
- Copy the downloaded 380.PBP u235.prx and EBOOT.PBP files to /PSP/GAME/UPDATE
FROM YOUR PSP:
- Disconnect the USB by pressing O.
- Select Game, Memory Stick and press X.
- Run the "PSP Update ver 3.80" and the update will be done by Sony updater. At the end, you will be asked to reboot the PSP, press X.
- Check your PSP unit by selecting Settings, System Settings, Sytem information ... PSP should display System Software = 3.80 M33
- Delete the "PSP Update ver 3.80" from the Game, Memory Stick after the installation
- Done. Enjoy using your Internet Radio and other additional functionalities on your PSP.

Changes:

- HEN core: user mode can load now signchecked files from flash.
- recovery: flash1 format will create flash1 directories after format.
This could fix some flash1 issues with the previous versions.
- Network update from dark-alex.org page. By default is enabled.
You can turn it off in recovery (when off, network update will download sony updates as usual).
- Nids resolver for various kernel libraries.

Comments:

In 3.80 sony has changed (again) kernel nids. The nids resolver will resolve a lot of nids from firmwares 1.50-3.60
(traditional nids) to the ones of 3.80 kernel.
In general, 3.71 nids will NOT be resolved to 3.80 ones. However, to compatibilize 3.80 M33 with prx's programmed for 3.71,
a few very 3.71 nids that were found in some 3.71 plugins will be resolved too.
More info about what is resolved in nidsresolver_status.txt (see attached txt below).

Thanks to the combination of the nids resolver and the user libraries possibility in kernel mode added back in 3.71 M33-3,
some programs that stopped working in 3.30 M33 may work again now. One of them is PimpStreamer 0.90.

Finally, popsloader plugin from 3.71 will not work in 3.80 M33 due to its system dependancy. A new one will be rewritten for 3.80 M33.

================================================== ========================

UPGRADE from PSP FIRMWARE 3.80 M33 TO 3.80 M33-2
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

REQUIREMENTS:

- Installation requires a fully charged PSP with firmware 3.80 M33.
- This instruction refers as X=Enter and O=Back.

UPGRADE INSTRUCTION:

FROM YOUR PC:
- Download and unrar the PSP380m33-2.rar to any folder
- Copy the downloaded EBOOT.PBP file (EBOOT for M33-2 update) to /PSP/GAME/UPDATE
FROM YOUR PSP:
- Disconnect the USB by pressing O.
- Select Game, Memory Stick and press X.
- Run the "3.80 M33-2" and the update will be done by Sony updater. At the end, you will be asked to reboot the PSP, press X.
- Check your PSP unit by selecting Settings, System Settings, Sytem information ... PSP should display System Software = 3.80 M33-2
- Delete the "3.80 M33-2" from the Game, Memory Stick after the installation
- Done

This update fixes a couple of issues.

- Function scePowerGetClockFrequency/scePowerGetClockFrequencyInt was not resolved properly due to a
confussion between the two nids applying to the same function. Fixed, this update is necessary
for plugins and kernel homebrew reporting psp cpu speed.

- PSX EBOOT.PBP that have a icon of 80x80 pixels will not be replaced by Dracula icon in savedata.

Explanation of icon issue:
In 3.80 pops, Sony has introduced a bug that causes a crash when the icon of the pbp is not 80x80,
like those of psstore. To resolve the issue, M33 was replacing the icon in ram by the one with Dracuala image,
what caused the side effect of ps1 save games having Dracula icon.

Now the behaviour in 3.80 M33-2 is to replace the icon in ram only if the one in the file is not 80x80.

Your system must be an original PSP version 3.03 from Sony Corporation and not a custom firmware version (particularly the M33 version) developed by Dark Alex.
I think you can download the original 3.80 version from Sony PSP internet site. You'l have to review the requirement and the procedures before doing the upgrade from 3.03 to 3.80.

What is the advantage of having a 3.80 M33 custom firmware version compared to an 3.80 Original Sony PSP version?
Well, there's a lot of PSP games (I mean tons of games) out there on the web that can be downloaded and run on an M33 versions. My friend here in the Philippines has (over 200) games in his file and I downloaded only the 50 games I like.
For an Original Sony PSP version, you cannot run those downloaded games. You'll have to buy an original UMD games from the store.

If you plan to flash your unit with M33 version, you need a pandora battery and a memory stick (with program to flash your PSP) to install an M33 Custom Firmware version developed by Dark Alex.
For me, because I don't have Pandora battery and a memory stick to flash my PSP, I go to a shop that provides these services. Initially, my unit has an original Sony PSP version, then they put the pandora battery and the Mem Stick on my PSP, reboot the unit and flush it with the 3.71 M33 version.
(Pandora battery, I think, is more expensive to buy than a standard battery. It has a tweaking program installed inside to push an M33 version inside the PSP. I don't know what's inside the memory stick that flashes the PSP to M33 version)

After that, I upgraded my PSP unit myself to higher M33 version. Recently, I applied the 3.80 M33 then apply the 3.80 M33-2. Yesterday I got the M33-3 and M33-4 from Dark Alex website. I applied those two upgrades and now I'm already at M33-4.

Default PSP Firmware Upgrade - 3.80 M33-5

.
Heres PSP Firmware Upgrade - 3.80 M33-5

Changes:
- Fixed custom CPU clock not working in games
- CPU clock has never (in any SE/OE/M33) be set at all in games that restarted using sceKernelLoadExec to use a subgame or reload themselves,
after said restart happened (e.g. Castlevania). Fixed.
- Added setting to recovery to hide PIC0.PNG and PIC1.PNG in the XMB game menu
By default off, when on you will probably notice a faster browse in XMB games.
This setting only applies to any kind of apps/games (pbp, iso) that load from MS, but not to UMD's.

It seems you guys dont wanna play ******* games no more on your PSP. You gonna have to wait for a new downgrade for this version. Sony PSP firmwares just limits you...
But anyways thats just my view. Maybe you guys are loyal PSP fans but me, Im not.
