newbie here, i have a problem...

i have bought a pro duo memory stick 1 gig from a store, but later found out that it has a print which says for use with psp. ive already use it in my p990 but the picture and movie clips that i have taken is corrupted after taking it... is there a software that could make it compatible with my p990? i am using it now but the performance is very less compared to my stock mem card. is it really compatible with my p990? i have tried to format it using the formatter in my phone but the problem is still there.... please help....
