i think your friends are false, cos k800 cant have walkman player. that have walkman player is k750 that flashing using w800 firmware.

yea the k800i is more a camera instead of walkman

maybe there are third party java media players out there available for the k800? Or are there?

its not possible to make it into a walkman, not even with a java application. The K800i was purely a camera phone. You can try to flash it with a different firmware but I wouldnt advise it because it may/definately mess up the camerca function.
