P990i spacebar problem

The manual says if you press spacebar long enough, the phone application will come up. My P990i just makes a beep sound and goes back to main menu. Are there anyone else experiencing this issue?

hey i found out the cause . I think you disable the handwriting
YOU MUST ENABLE THAT,for it to work!

i had also press the Space bar button , and wat i listen is aonly a Beep.

sheez..just what i was afraid of..something went wrong with my space bar and i am experiencing the same problem now..can anyone help?

i don't think that would be a spacebar problem. i had that when i was still using firmware R6D23. what i did was to update using SEUS to make it R6E28 and everything is perfect now
