If you have a PC, then you can download "Super", which will convert to/from almost every video format.

THIS IS IN THE WRONG SECTION, MOVED TO PROBLEMS SECTION

It is not possible to play any video formats other than .3gp & .mp4 on the phones you have listed, but this does not mean you can't watch films.

When you RIP a DVD (in .3gp, I use Xilisoft DVD Ripper) make sure to rip it in chapters as your phone will struggle with any video file over 10MB (the cache isn't big enough).

Once you have RIPPED your DVD in chapters create a directory using the name of the film in the root of your VIDEOS directory on your memory card and copy all the Chapter files to it.
Next create a PLAYLIST in your Media Player and call it the name of the film.
Add the files in the films directory to the playlist (unless you name each file using sequenetial numbers you may have to add each file individually) and make sure their in the right order.
Save the Playlist.

Now when you want to watch the film, start Media Player and select the Playlist you created.
The Playlist will open, select the first file in the list and the film will start playing.
Now select the More menu (should be your right softkey) and select Full Screen.
The film will now be running in Wide Screen Landscape mode.
