how to delete folders i created in messaging..

anyone who can help me on this one?how do i delete folders i have created in messaging?ive already tried everything but i can't see how..by the way,im not using the flip..

-open any folder in messaging.
-tap the icon on the top most part, the small icon on the right
-choose edit folders
-choose the folder you want to delete
-then choose delete
