P1i camera !!
Hey guys! Is only my opinion or the P1i camera is realy bad? Grainy photos and surplus of light on the edges. Please share information. Can be a software issue or a hardware one. I must say I have the latest firmware. Thanks!!

maybe you only have poor lightning condition, does the P1i didnt take the Cybershot of K-800? if not then its a bad Camera then, considering its a 3.2 megapixel...

The quality of the p1i isn't as good as I expected it to be. its got a greenish tint towards the right side of all images, and its a little more grainy than some of the cameras out there. But for phone pictures, it does the job. I just wish the green tint would go away, and colours could be made brighter. Not sure if its a software fix or if the actual CMOS sensor is bad. To avoid grainy images, use better lighting. The 'night' mode doesn't seem to do anything, and sometimes the exposure feature also doesn't seem to work.
Needs fixing soon!!!

Sorry guys but the P1i camera is useless. I have recently sold my P1i. I had it from new, and was majorly dissapointed with the camera.
I don't know why SE didn't use the Lens that was in the K750i, reason being is that the lens makes all the difference. Not being a 3.2 mp camera. For example I have a K750i which takes a crisp picture, compared to a P1i's 3.2mp camera....which takes grainy (not very good at all) pictures. Because the K750i uses a far better lens than the P1i! It's a shame because SE would have had a true winner with the P1i if they got the camera situation sorted. You can't improve the P1i camera because it's down to the not so good lens they have used. You could have a 1.0mp camera and a 3.2mp camera... but dependant on the lens in either of them, the 1.0mp camera with a top class lens will always take a much crisp and clearer image than a 3.2mp camera with a very poor lens. Only difference is the image sizes, which mean nothing when it comes to picture clarity! So I'm afraid your camera isn't very good on the P1i - like I said, it's a shame as the camera lets it down big time.

for how many months you had kept your P1i violator?
how about its video recording? is it still 3gp or mp4 format? too bad for sony then, but still its a Business UIQ phone not for taking pictures like a Cybershot..... lets say its better that Sony put a 3.2 camera than none at all..... or i guess they will surely lose to nokia......
