Garmin since last year doesnt release new version of its software for symbian phones, I dont think this can work on s^3, but you can try, maps are in maps section-

Hi, I'm running V5.00.50 on my N8 with Symbian^3, but I also get the split screen on rotation. I downloaded the 5.00.60 standalone version, do I need to copy to mass memory replacing the old version & then run .sis from file manager?
I did this once & got the fail to desktop after launch. I've now cleaned my phone & gone back to V5.00.50.
I want the screen fix, should I try again?

V5.00.50 working 100% though & N8 picks up satellites in my house after bout 5sec, my N96 used to take a few minutes & only outside....

This seems to be an installation problem. Cause 5.00.60 is reported to work on N8

Works fine on my Nokia E52 with a selection of maps: CN Europe 2011.30, Topo Germany v3 and even with OSM maps...


With this my E52 has replaced my old Garmin Nüvi (which doesn't have enough ROM anymore & SD cards are limited to 2 GB)

I'm running on my N8 and it's perfect. My installation is on the internal 16gb but I also had it on the micro card and it works just the same. What I did find was that the first time I installed 5.00.60 TW it did not start. So I copied all the map files and unlocks to a safe place along with POI and GPX and Voice and help. Then I uninstalled the GMobileXT application using application manager on the phone. After that I went into the file browser and deleted the entire Garmin folder as well as the sis file in the root folder. I then reinstalled a fresh version of 5.00.60 TW, then copied back the files I had saved, and it all works fine. In horizontal mode fills the whole screen and all the menus are perfectly displayed. Speed limit displays too if small text is selected.
