Thread: Any dis-advantage's to hacking your phone?

Hello, I just got a second-hand nokia n95 today I don't think it has been hacked (wouldn't know how to tell,yet) I was looking at the tutorial in the sticky to hacking my phone and was going to go for it. But before I do, I was wondering if the was any cons doing so?

first: congratulations on your new achievement
second: hacking won't hurt your phone. it will remove the limits of it. you will have "Unlimited N95"
you will be able to install everything and to browse through every folder.

Only downside i can think of is tat you can delete/modify your OS and application files. For the OS, there are backups in Z: so you will be safe but dont mess around with software files in c: or you will have to reinstall

Thanks for the input Mnia. I'm pretty clued up with windows/xp and know how to build a pc, but these little phones tend to worry me, they seem so precious. I'll just be following the guides in these forums so hopefully everything will be cool.

Anyway I have followed the alternative hack stickied at the top of this thread and all has gone well

but hey..you don't need to delete things. following tutorials is good. they will help you. if u want to delete from C:\ just because you want to do so...Hard Reset will be your best friend:D

And the most dangerous drawback you forgot guys...It allows any application to get installed..And that "ANY APPLICATiON" includes viruses and unwanted things also..Though at present there aint any virus but you cant garauntee..Anything may come up..

but i found a virus kind of thing in my frnds n73 hacked
the problem was his cell started sending without his knowledge
empty msg started being sent frequently to a unknown number usually 10 to 15 msg per day

don kno if its a virus doing it or wat

it is not virus. and a person who installs a virus is a stupid person. just install good applications only. from forums. tested applications. and NEVER install porn applications. most of them are containing viruses

before hacking it,upgade to the new firmware,yesterday i get my second n95 8gb and it's the first thing i do before hack,and i start install with new hack
all fine
