Thread: Removing Menu Icon for N95 FW30

Thanks to P@SCOE, who wrote this trick on italian forum , we are now able to elimiate an awful menu icon form N95 8GB. I don't have one, but according to users it is also possible to remove it form N95 with FW v30 (which is the only reason I'm not upgrading form v21).



This is the way, how to do it:
(I cannot speak Italian, so I used automatic translation)

1. must have carried out a hack on the cellular one in order to succeed to see the cartelle hidden
2. to approach the C:\private\10201be9\ folder
3. if it is present to eliminate the rows 101F8847.TXT
4. to approach the C:\private\10201be9\persists\ folder
5. to cancel if it is present the rows 101F8847.CRE
6. to copy in the C:\private\10201be9\ folder the rows 101F8847.TXT mailed at the bottom of the argument
7 to riavviare cellular and the icona of the menu have been brutally assassinated…


and this is original (italian users, please translate)

1. bisogna avere effettuato un hack sul cellulare per riuscire a vedere
le cartelle nascoste
2. accedere alla cartella C:\private\10201be9\
3. se è presente eliminare il file 101F8847.TXT
4. accedere alla cartella C:\private\10201be9\persists\
5. cancellare se è presente il file 101F8847.CRE
6. copiare nella cartella C:\private\10201be9\ il file 101F8847.TXT postato in fondo alla discussione
7 riavviare il cellulare e l’icona del menu è stata brutalmente assassinata…

Name of folder is 10202be9. 101F8847.txt doesn't exist. 101F8847.cre exist. What should I do? Delete 101F8847.cre and menu icon will disappear? Only icon or menu will chanege like in firmware v21??

yes but delete also C:\private\10201be9\persists\101F8847.CRE
(if present)
