Thread: Memory Full in Help Application/Recover some Phone Memory - S60v3 HACKED Phone

For S60v3, N95 8GB HACKED phone...

Use X-Plorer, CapsOnOff or ROMPatcher to have Full Capability, and be able to move files...

You can move all files in C:\Resource\HELP to your MMC E:\Resource\HELP

Advantage, You recover some high speed memory of your phone.
And all application will find automatically help file on E:.

Some help file can have strange name not in relation with the application, then you can rename those help file.
I do by adding a minus '-' and the application name, and application will find the help file!

Then in last, if your Help application say Memory full !
Create a sub folder of your name in E:\Resource\Help, set it as hidden, and move in All big help files that you dont need temporary in.

You can play with this, move some help files in sub folder and put back some others, then start Help application,
and it will show what new help he have found !! great.
But remember, Help application have a limit !

If Help application still say Memory Full, then move some more help files, in the sub folder hidden.
then restart your help application, and it should work, as me.
Done on my N95 8GB.

And remember, if you install some new or upgrade application, then move again help files from C: to E: !!!

need some help, cant find C:\Resource\HELP ... there is no folder on c called resource, is it hidden? I'm using explorer.

Thanks for the trick. It is going to free 100KB of my phone memory. But what I really need is to free a lot of RAM off my N95-1. Rep added to you...Mansur.

I have a bunch of "smart2go.hxx" (xx = 1 ..130) files in my "c:\resouce\help\" dir...
Anyone know what to what app belong these "smart2go.." files ?

It didn't work for me : I moved about 800K (56 files) to the hidden subdir, but got still "out of memory" when I press the HLP in any app...
Any idea ?
N95-2 / 79 MB free RAM after restart.

I moved almost all files to the hidden sub-dir and still get the message "memory full....."
There are also a lot of files in my "z:\rersource\help\*" and I suspect these are filling op the space for the hlp file as they are probably loaded before the one on C:\.
I have about 79M free, so I'd think this is enough to open a simple hlp file...
Any further ideas besides re-format ?
