Free! QuickIM Mobile Instant Messenger for Java Phones, MSN Compatible
Version: 2.5
QuickIM Express Edition is free!
The only thing we ask you is, if you like QuickIM, to support us and talk about QuickIM ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) in blogs/forums ! QuickIM.com is available in many languages.
No monthly fee, no hidden cost. QuickIM will use your exising data connection to exchange text messages. For you, the only cost is from the data transfer use (same as when you use web browsing or send/receive email on your phone), charged by your mobile carrier or sometime available for free. Usually a 5Mb data plan is sufficient for standard use of QuickIM. QuickIM is not making any money out of your data use. Contact your mobile carrier on more details on your mobile internet data options.
Reviewers, before posting a negative comment, please read the requirements! QuickIM requires a GPRS connection that allows you at least to use POP3/SMTP email, ask your mobile carrier for assistance if you are not sure how to have this configured.
Since QuickIM is not making any revenue from QuickIMExpress, make sure to purchase a paid (Standard or Multimedia) version if you like it and want to support us. Also the paid version comes with more features (multimedia features, chat messages recording) and has no advertising screen and messages.
On compatible phones, capture pictures and audio messages and send them to remote users! Multimedia edition requires phones that support midlet of size >!128 kb and that offer camera or audio access by Java programs, it can be downloaded here: wapjad.com (WAP browser) or jadwap.com (WEB browser)
If your phone is not compatible with Multimedia features, download the standard version instead using the links below.

Classic error message: Err: Dispatch server error: Address=messenger.hotmail.com, Port= -1 Details: Create socket: Could not resolve hostname
or
Create socket: Try again using default proxy servers?"
Explanation: this simply means that either you don`t have a GPRS subscription, or you are using a WAP only GPRS subscription. If you believe you do have an internet GPRS subscription, contact your mobile operator on how to configure the the Internet GPRS Access Point on your phone in order to have POP3/SMTP email working on your phone, they should provide free of charge this information. Once this is configured, QuickIM will run using the same GPRS profile.
