Director Ron Howard's Da Vinci Code has raked up a storm, thanks to its controversial content.
Adapted from Dan Brown's best-selling novel, the film challenges age-old views about Jesus Christ's life.

Catholic priests and laypeople, along with Muslim clerics, have demanded that the film be banned in India.

Starring Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou, the movie is slated to premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 17, and release worldwide on May 19.

I don't believe it should be banned cause it's Fictional, Like Batman or Spiderman...

Thats just my view though...

It involves religion.. Thats why it may cause conflicts..

It has tried to alter christian belief i think.

i think any kind of movies that critics every religios should be banned to avoid any misunderstood ... we believe in our religious ..so why do they judge us ...

We are Human Beings that have freedom of Choice and Movement, people do not have the right to push theier opinions onto others...

There have been many historical programs shown on National Geographic and Discovery Channel that Scientifically Prove that the events in the movie are fictional and that there is no evidence that it could have taken place...

I mean Come on Leonardo Di Vinci, It could have been Einstein it does not make a difference cause it is fictional...

I understand that people have strong beliefs but this is not new thing... When Jesus Christ Superstar was first released it caused an uproar but it didn't stop many of the critics from seeing it...

I feel that if people want to see this movie they should have that choice...

People don't critisise movies like Dogma, Contantine & Hellraiser so lets not think this is a new thing, controversy is part of what makes us human...

no, i would not say ban it, thats a bit too far, anyway lots of people say its poo anyway

but as said in previous post its only fiction like Constantine and thats religious so why not ban that ? It has different views, especially about arch-angels, half breeds etc Just look at the Exorcist, jees, nuns were passing out and stuff cos of that, but now its one of the best horror films in the world !! Yeah it was gross in parts, especially the crucific bit, but it not change peoples views about Christ Etc, so why should the Di Vinci Code ?

i think the modern church should allow all as if it has nothing to hide then what the problem eh ?? surely beleivers will no deter cos of a film ? to insult a faith only makes more martyrs, so i think not, and if so then their faith is not strong...

but who am I to question one persons faith ??....
