Rice recently made an interesting statement, which combined with many previous ones creates a very interesting point.

"This missile shield is not aimed at anyone."

If it is not aimed at anyone, doesn't it stand to reason it is meant for everyone in general? I mean the shield is then set up to protect the US against anyone, since it wasn't designed against any one particular nation. Since it is set up for protection against anyone in general then it should be considered a threat by anyone not within or part of this shield.

Combine this statement with the one made many times:

"This shield is designed for protection against rogue states"

What is a rogue state? A rogue in this context is defined as one who doesn't obey or who isn't controlled by an authority, in this case a global authority. The only real global authority is the US, unless by their actions you wish to list them as a rogue nation then this argument is moot. As the only real global authority the US would consider any nation that didn't obey their wishes to be considered a rogue state. It is obvious that any nation that wishes to act independently of the US can be viewed in this context.

Therefore combining the two statements it is patently obvious that Russia is certainly a target of this proposed shield and is perfectly justified in taking the course it has.

Taking the past into consideration, as we all must if we are to view these types of situations with any moderation, we can see that it was the US and not Russia that abandoned the ABM treaty. It is the US and not Russia that has shown blatant nuclear support for nations that have not abided by the Nuclear Proliferation Treaty, a treaty that the US only pays heed to when it feels like it.

So Russia is justified in their actions and the US can only be branded as the aggressor here.

And yes, I am from the United States.

Well, Google rocks! (Doesn't it?)... here is the translation:
sorry requested to write in English but written in Russian. The war began in South Ossetia by Georgia, and they lost it, hoping for help from the United States, but it has not received. Saakashvili this dictator, his direct road to The Hague, he ordered the murder of Russian peacekeepers and more than 2000 civilians.
The outcome - the beginning of a new Cold War? Russia does not need it, who benefits?

------------------------
my reply: no one benifits, no! actually the US does! How? Now it has one more ruse to build its Missile Shield bases in Poland!
