A new poll in France showed that most of the French people view the Israeli regime as a terrorist entity, and hold it responsible for bloodshed and political turmoil in Palestine.

The poll was commissioned jointly by the Liberation newspaper and a national public radio. It revealed that about 34% of French citizens sympathize with the Palestinian people as opposed to 13% for Israel.

Questioning whether the the Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat was a hero of the Palestinian resistance or a terrorist, 43% voted for the former, while only 227% chose the latter.

Earlier this year, a European barometer opinion survey showed that 60% of all Europeans view Israel as a terrorist state.
