Right to ban St Georges Flag ?

Howdy...

Theres a lot of specualtion today in newspapers about whether or not people should fly the St George flag in build up to the World cup.

Some people are saying it symbolises racism and upsets ethnic communities in the Uk, and some poeple are saying it reminds people of the bloody crusades back in the days which affected a lot of religions in the east. Alot of schools/uni's & local councils are backing the ban too.

What do u think ?? Should England have a new national flag ?? Are we pussyfooting around too much ??

Myself, I think that people are taking things a bit too far.... as always !!

we have the right to fly our flag regardless of some pc moron squealing about offending others.we live in britain.thats our national flag,if ya don like it .....tufff lumps.live in the artic .

this must be the only country where its going to be illegal to fly the national flag,thanks politicians ,go stick ya head in a pc toilet.

Maybe they should ban the Flag at the World cup too (I mean why only ban it in the host country) It's not fair to subject other nationals to the horrifying sight of the English Flag... Can you imagine that!!!

Maybe they could give the oppossing football team a TESCO carrier bag in exchange for their national flag instead before the match comences...

It's all a nonsense... There is nothing racial about it at all, there are many Black, Asian &Indian people living in britain that our proud to be British...

i find the flying of tescos bags offensive and it shouldnt be allowed.

I concur mr ninja, i dont get it either, really dont understand it all, it seems we are too afraid to stand up to the collectives cos we are too scared of being classed as racist. Is this what its all come to ??

whats it all about ?????? I suppose the banners shown in london not so long ago supporting terrosim and threatening the UK are allowed then ??? Its ok to threaten to kill us, but we cant be proud of our country as it offends others ??

I have many eastern friends who are all born in England and proud to be english !! In fact they wear england merchandise more than me !!

we all have our own opinions on this but come on, get a grip, its only a game !!

so come on councillors, stop being a Killjoy, its only a game of footy !!

maybe the other nations are jealous cos we have the best team !! HAHAHAHA

that is true Bimo, things have been a bit fishy since then !(and it aint nothing to do with my GF)

rival countries etc etc, but surely we can put it all behind us just for a bit of footy ?? or u think think other nations (including england) will take it too far ??
