Yep, have that one at in the freight elevator at my work. (its in Swedish btw)
Basically it is to warn of you that you can get crushed if you have anything too close to the edge of the elevator. It could get caught and pushed up that way. Nothing strange, its just blatantly obvious because stupid people pay attention more. Brings the number of elevator related deaths down.
