Second-time poster here, possibly in the wrong place, but since the appls forum seemed crowded with... well, the applications themselves, I thought I'd post a question as to which one to use in a different place.
Specifically. Does anyone know which - if any - of the various N95 compatible map and navigation programs actually use any hardware acceleration the phone has? The N95 runs on an OMAP2420, which means it has a PowerVR MBX inside it (which isn't powerful, but is certainly decent on a low res screen). It's not the only phone with some acceleration of this variety, and it's certainly not the only thing that map software runs on that has it.
Consequently, I'd kind of think it a no-brainer for the various navigation companies to implement support for it in making sure that the mode-7-esque views on their software were smoother than, say, a SNES emulator on a 486 trying to run F-zero, which for the most part seems to be about par with navigation software.
So, do any of them use it, does acceleration have to be turned on manually, and are they any good in other respects?
And if the answer is no, as I suspect it might be, does anyone else find the phenomenon of unused 3D hardware for the only operation most non-gamers will ever actually perform on their phone confusing?
