Default Revolution gets Blitzed

Independent UK developer announces support for Nintendo's next-gen console.
While creating games for the Nintendo Revolution and its unique controller will certainly be a new experience for many developers, the console manufacturer has emphasized that it will not be an especially expensive one. If this proves true, the Revolution could be a very attractive option for independent developers compared to working with the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3.

One such independent developer, UK-based Blitz Games, today announced that it has signed a deal for its first Revolution title, with details to be announced shortly "by a major publisher." Blitz, whose past games have included Pac-Man World 3, Fuzion Frenzy, and Barbie Horse Adventures: Wild Horse Rescue, have worked with a number of publishers, including Namco, THQ, Microsoft, Codemasters, and Atari.

"This latest addition to our portfolio clearly signals that Blitz is one of the few major developers with the capability and technology to work on both next and current generation titles simultaneously," Blitz CEO Phillip Oliver said in a statement. "Our strategy of a fully featured, well structured tool chain and cross platform engine has really paid off and we are quickly able to incorporate these new platforms with relative ease making our development faster and more efficient."

Blitz is currently working on a handful of unnamed PlayStation 2 and GameCube titles, and has the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 zombie action-adventure game Possession under development at its Volatile Games division.

I think I will see all three machines and then decide which one to buy...

I still think the PS3 will rule though...
