    Default Hardmod VS Softmode

There is so much to talk about when coming to the question of whether to opt for HardMod or SoftMod. For a start, I am going to move in with the obvious facts and what I think most would question about when it comes to doing it the hard way or the soft way.

    What is hardmod?
To put things simple , hardmod is practically to install a physical entity i.e. a modcip into your console that would then enable it to run homebrew abilities as such.

    What is softmod?
Softmod works by installing a certain software instead without having you to dismantle your console system to which it would allows you to run homebrew applications as such.

How hard is it installing a modchip? ( hardmod )
It isn’t that difficult to install one provided that you or someone you hand over with has the experience on soldering. I have come across certain solderless modchips and that would definitely provide a much more risk free when installing.

How hard is it installing a software ( softmod )

Not at all provided you follow the sets of instructions that has been lay out to you step by step. Other than that, there is practically no risk when it comes to installing a software.
What are the differences when it comes to functionality when comparing softmod and hardmod?
Now both of them will perform the same thing. You can backup games, import games, install homebrew applications and more.

Which is cheaper? Softmod or hardmod?
Frankly speaking based on my experience and expertise, I would consider softmod being the cheapest. But it is really depending on certain purchases and actions you take. Getting software can be as cheap as free to costing you a few $100 and above. Same goes with owning a chip.

Pros and Cons of a Modchip
    Pros

    - The result of such application depends greatly on the soldering process.
-Easy when comes to upgrading to a bigger hard drives to install files etc.
    - Multiple bios to flash and use.
    Cons
    - Your warranty will be voided as you dismantle your system to install a modchip.

Pros and Cons of a Softmod
    Pros
    - Installing is easy as you follow the steps and instructions given
    - Practically everything can be done and accomplish by following the given instructions and manuals.
    - You will still have a legitimate warranty as dismantling the console system is not necessary
    Cons
    - At times, certain upgrade and updates is necessary to keep your Wii console in a compatible state. During previous times, upgrading has always been the nerve wreaking part as when improperly may lead to easy wreckage and error encounters. However, times have change and updating your software has been much more greatly efficient depending on the software developers systems.

I hope this will give you a general understanding of softmod and hardmod. There is no right or wrong in either both ways depending on your preferences.
Please feel free to chip in, correct me or expressing your thoughts in this.
    Thank you.
    Have a nice day.
