Thread: My Wii Downloads - Con or am I stupid?

So I'm an idiot. I paid for a membership to 'My Wii Downloads' so that I could get games for my Christmas pressie.

My Wii is NOT modded in any way and the sit claims that no mod is needed to play the games I download.

I have downloaded a game, used winrar to extract the files and burned the file to DVD-R using ImgBurn. The disc is not recognised by my Wii and 'my Wii Downloads' support has not responded to any of my emails. I'm feeling ripped off but I will admit that I could be an idiot who has missed a step, but without support from the support team I am stuck.

I have read about the twilight hack and wondered if I need to do this or buy a mod chip. Feel free to mock me for my stupidity!

really,buy a mod chip,all work fine in my house,i make all update fw and no problemo

it looks like to enable you to get access and play those games that you have downloaded, would simply means you have to mod your wii in some way or another first.
there are alot of ways to go about modding your wii and I would like to just share with you that you can either do it by installing a modchip( hardmod) or using a software ( softmod )
I would recommend going for the softmod.

Twilight hacking is considered a softmod but firstly you really have to find out what version of Wii are you currently holding? If its version 4.0 above, i believe twilight modding will never work on it.
I would suggest you on another alternative of softmodding your wii instead. Have you heard about bannerbomb technique? It is a better alternative softmodding for your wii without the need of using A Zelda Game [ use for twilight hacking ].
For Bannerbomb modding, all you really need is : A wii console ( obviously ) , Pc / mac operating system, sd card reader for pc, sd card of 2gb ,wii mote , and a softmod wii software.
the software practically provides everything from instructions to applications.
Not to sell anything here but if you are still in doubt of what kind of software that works best for bannerbomb modding , i would personally suggest homebreware.
