There's still a lot Wii don't know about Nintendo's new console, but it all adds to the excitement!...
Web reports reckon the next-gen console’s got a secret weapon to sync the competition.
As the Wii inches ever closer, the Nintendo rumour mill shows no signs of slowing – this time claiming the console’s got a secret “Sync” button. The question is, what’s it syncing to?
Our money is on the DS. We already know Nintendo’s new console will serve up downloads for the portable on a daily basis, and that you’ll be able tocontrol some games using its touchscreen.
But will the Wii let you sync profiles, or even retro games to the handheld for use on the move? It’s a strong possibility, especially if Nintendo sells games from its strong handheld heritage through virtual console.
As with almost all the Wii rumours we’ve heard, this one stems from an anonymous source - an E3 worker who snuck a peak under the Wii’s front flap as the show was closing, then spilt the beans to fan site GoNintendo.
We’re taking it with a pinch of salt, not least because syncing could just as easily be done by the Wii’s software, without the need for a button at all.
Still, the thought of Gameboy, or even classic Game & Watch titles making their way to the handheld’s spiritual descendent, the DS, is appealing – watch this space for more news as it breaks!
Thanks
