U can't do it by yourself unless u have a flash cable kit, and it's quite expensive. To upgrade the firmware, u need to take the phone to Nokia Center.

Is it free to upgrade firmware?
BTW...When u talk or play .amr's on ur Nokia 7610, is the voice a little fuzzy?

Well if your phone is under warrenty just ask NSC some more ques like it hang fequently and etc etc and they will upload the new firmware Free Of Cost

yes, when u play amr, it's got a little bit fuzzy and mp3 with "click" sound. But when u upgrade the firmware, this problem will be solved. I did the upgrade this evening (v4.0437.4), and I'm so glad about it :D : it's solved the sound problems and I've got some additional features of the phone, such as short cuts for D-pad.
