    Nokia warranty

    Warrenty for Nokia phones (Europe and Africa)
    This is a small summery of the limitations of the Nokia Warranty, Not the full one. You can find the full warranty in the manual (on-line or Inbox)
    1. The warranty period is 12 months for first customer purchasing date.
    2. The device will be repaired in a Nokia service center, and will be returned in good working condition.
    3. A repaired or replaced Product will not be given a prolonged or renewed warranty period.
    4. The warranty does not cover painted covers or other personalized (hardware)part.
    5. Unlocking (simlock) will not be done by Nokia but by the operator.
    6. The warranty shall not apply if:
    - use in contradiction with the owner’s/user manual, rough handling, exposure to moisture, dampness or extreme thermal or environmental conditions or rapid changes in such conditions, corrosion, oxidation, unauthorized
    modifications or connections, unauthorized opening or repair, repair by use of unauthorized spare parts,
    misuse, improper installation, accident, forces of nature, spillage of food or liquid, influence from chemical products or other acts beyond the reasonable control of Nokia (including but not limited to deficiencies in consumable parts, such as batteries which all by their nature have a limited lifetime, and breakage or damage to antennas) unless the defect
    was caused directly by defects in materials, design or workmanship.
    - Nokia or the service center was not notified (by customer) of the defect within 30 day's after first appearance of the defect.
    - The product was not returned to nokia within 30 days after the first appearance of the defect.
    - The IMEI code, Serial number or accessory date has been removed, erased, defaced, altered or is illegible.
    - The defect was caused by a defective function of the cellular network
    - The defect was caused by use of a accessory not manufactured or supplied by Nokia, or used in other than its intended use.
    - The defect was caused by the fact that the battery was short-circuited, seals of battery enclosure or cells were broken or temperd, or when the battery was used in other equipment then for which it was specified.
    - The product software needs to be upgraded due changes of cellular network parameters.
    7. To claim warranty the customer needs to
    - legible original warranty card, which indicates the name of customer, product type and IMEI number
    - purchase receipt which contains previous information
    8. This warranty replaces all other warranties and liabilities.
    9. Any change or amendment to this limited warranty requires Nokia’s prior written consent.

    Connection Nokia to PC
    you have 3 way's to connect your Nokia mobile phone to a pc.
    - Bluetooth
    - IR
    - Datacable (only the original Nokia datacables works with pc suite)
    the programs most popular are Mobimb, Logomanager, Oxygen Phone suite and Nokia PC suite (free). you can download and find more informations about those at the links...


    SMS tips for Nokia series 40
    general
    to add a phone number, go to options > add number and then press search.
    when you recieved a message with a phonenumber, press use detail and Phone number to call or save number sended.
    (this is also for e-mail adress or website)
    you also can insert a picture or a template with options menu.


    T9 off:
    * for special letters and symbols and enter, go around in with key's 2-4-6-8 or with arrows
    # for changing caps/small letters
    # long press for ciffres
    long press on numberbuttom make a ciffre appear
    press 1 for . , ? ! ' "

    T9 on
    When composing a message just type the letters as they normally would be in a word. Once you have completed the word if that’s the only “usual” spelling of the word the word will be underlined. If there are other words that could use that key press combination press the * key and it will cycle through words that are in the T9 dictionary. If T9 cannot find the word the word will have a ? after it with the word spell if there are no other options. Press spell and it will bring you to a screen where you can multitap the word. After you spell the word the word will now be part of the T9 dictionary.

    activate Netmonitor/ Field Test
    To activate netmonitor or field test you need special programs to do it. You can find them on the internet.
    Net Monitor is just a special mode, which when activated shows different information about the network and about phone modules, SIM card, etc.
