SPH-G1000, SCH-G100: 3D-game vibrating phones by Samsung
Samsung Electronics has officially announced new models the SPH-G1000 and the SCH-G100, which represent 3D game phones with vibration function. The company also informed that the new handsets would be commercially available in Korea next week.
The SPH-G1000 and the SCH-G100 work under CDMA 2000 1X network and feature 113x55x24 mm, a 2.2” 240x320x262K color TFT screen and RS-MMC slot. Besides the slider G1000 is equipped with a 1.3-megapixel camera, which is activated by opening the lens cover.
The phones reproduce real sound and image at the same time rendering vibration to user’s hands to provide “live” sensation during gaming. For example, if you play a car racing game, the phone vibrates, as if you drive along a gravel road or other uneven surface, that makes the virtual world more real.
There is a built-in graphical accelerator, which can process 1 million polygons per second. The 3D accelerator can “mix” graphics, i.e. 2D and 3D images can be displayed simultaneously making interesting visual effects. The function allows displaying the game background in 2D and people and other elements in 3D. Two built-in speakers ensure realistic stereo sound during gaming.
