Danger of using wired headsets
Cell Phone Headsets & RF Exposure
RF Safe WireGuards fit any personal Hands Free (P.H.F.) headsets.

Legislation for laws requiring Hands Free cell phone usage are going in effect all over the USA! Ironically, it has been proven headsets often increase radiation exposure when not shielded or used properly.
A common misconception in the late 90’s was that Headsets were hailed as one of the best ways to reduce overall cranial exposure to cell phone emissions by greatly increasing the distance between the phone and head.
In 1998, RF Safe published scientific data supporting headsets increased RF Hazards greatly - especially with regards to fetal development because of relocation of the handset and wave-guide effects.
Then in 2000 there were worldwide concerns over the effectiveness of a headsets abilitie to greatly reduce cranial field intensity by accredited studies. The reason for this was that under certain configurations the headset wire could act as an antenna and transmission line to channel significant emissions directly into the ear and along the body.
The British Independent Group on Mobile Phones suggested headsets would be an ideal solution if they were used with filters to stop the headset wire from acting as an effective antenna.
This is exactly what RF Safe WireGuards are; it is a simple clip on Ferrite filter for maximum radiation reduction. A headset using an RF Safe WireGuard typically emits only 2-5% of the radiant microwave energy at the earpiece that an ordinary headset device would emit, so like sun block it offers a precautionary option to reduce microwave exposure.
Additional RF Safety measures can be taken, such as using a wired P.H.F utilizing RF Safe earbud shields or most recommended is using an Air-Tube design headset with a WireGuard. “
Air-Tube Designs further reduce cranial exposure, the RF3 incorporates an acoustic exchange principle like a doctors stethoscope to eliminate using a wire all the way to a headsets earpiece; this extra distance truly allows RF to drop off at the square of distance.
Earbud shields are made of a thin fabric specially treated to deflect RF radiation, simply install one 5/8 O.D Earbud shield under the headsets foam earpiece cover, at this point the ear canal is sealed off from RF entering it.
NOTE: EarBud shields are not needed if using an Air-Tube headset!
Cell Phone Location & RF Exposure
RF Phone Apparel Shields easily fit any person’s active healthy lifestyle.
A major concern of
"Hands Free Use"
is where the cell phone is held when near your body!

When a cell phone is attached to a belt, or in your pocket/purse radiation can penetrate the area near the cell phone handset. This radiant energy is absorbed much faster than at your head because tissues and organs such as liver, kidneys and reproductive organs provide much better conductivity than the skull. Simply put most of your major organs have no bone protection like your brain does. To avoid microwave exposure to vital organs and/or fetal development when using your cell phone, your usage environment must be taken into consideration and a deflective barrier “RF Safe Pocket/Purse and/or Belt Clip Shield” must be used between you and the handset itself.
Several RF Safe Approved Shields are made to deflect excessive microwave exposure for cell phone usage in near-field proximity of the body. Deflection materials are used because of their unique ability to provide a non-saturating rf barrier. An example of where deflection materials are use to shield microwaves in everyday life is a Microwave oven’s glass window “covered with screen” to deflect radiation back into the cooking chamber. This same technique is used to create a shield between you and the cell phone handset for the purpose of deflecting cell phone radiation away from you. Depending on where you carry the cell phone, the following shields are applicable. Note: Below shields are to be used in conjunction with a “Shielded Headset”!

Normally Clipped On Belt
A laminated 4x6in belt clip shield is installed between the swivel belt clip and phone, so when the phone is on the belt, a shield is between your body and phone.

v Normally In Shirt or Pants Pocket
A laminated 4x6in Pocket shield is simply slipped in your pocket between the phone and your body.

v Normally Held In Purse/HandBag
A laminated RF shield is slipped between the phone and the side of the purse or handbag that faces your body
