Smile The reason why .rm/.rmvb format is superioi to 3gp or mp4

    Hi
this thread is based on my observations abt the different formats.

    Reasons why 3gp sucks-
    1. Convevsion to 3gp always brings quality of video to pixel\grainy.
    2. The audio is so poor that movies and music videos sound like broken transistors.

    Reasons why mp4 sucks-
1.Although the viewing quality of the audio & video is awsome the format is not supported by default players on phones.
2.Since the quality is high so is the size.
For ppl who have a download speed of 2-5kbps, downloading is a pain.

    THE SOLUTION-
The solution is real player ie .rm or .rmvb files
1.Audio & Video quality is maintained high.
    2.The compression is amazing.

If you dont believe me checkout tie alchemic wepons anime series in the manga zone.

well thats why rm files are superior.
An added advantage for nokia users is that the default player supports rm & rmvb files.

The only thing left out is a dvd to rm file converter and a rm rmvb file player For se phones.

if any one has knowlege of either your posts are welcome.

P.S. If you liked my stufl rep+ pls.

i so totally agree with you and +repp given for having the same thoughts as me.. i've also known this information but never found any players on mobile that would manage to play rmvb files and im really dissapointed about it.. the files are really small and the quality is really great.. i hope to see any kind of symbian rmvb players soon...

1 nokia phones mostly N series have built in rmvb players ie software called "realplayer".Hence ppl owning nokia have an advantage.
2.converters are available eg "realmedia video converter"
google it and you might find download link.
3.avi format is absolutely fine as long as it dosent occupy gbs of space for a movie resulting in lag while u try watchinq it on yr phone(700mb for good qualty movie thats waste of precious space on yr phone)

I request all members of this forum to keep searching for a rmvb player for sony Uiq3 phones .

may your paths be illuminated by light of your knowledge

But still Xvid , DivX is much better then .rm and .rmvb files both in terms of quality and compression rate.
Just install CorePlayer for s60v3 . It can play almost all formats at full speed (unlike LCG Smartmovie).
