[12/08) Tomb Raider Puzzle Paradox
Supplied by Etty ![]() Lara Croft is perhaps the most iconic figure of videogaming today. Sure Mario has been around longer but it was a long time ago since he and Nintendo were the bywords in videogaming. Today, Lara Croft and her empire stretch from videogames to film to merchandise, she truly has become videogaming's third superstar after Mario and Sonic. Now, SCi owned Eidos Mobile has ensured that the legend will live on that bit longer with the arrival of Lara Croft on your mobile in her latest adventure, Lara Croft: Puzzle Paradox. So what is the game like then? Well this is a bit of a weird cookie. The story behind the latest game explains a lot about why Lara Croft does the things she does (well, apart from the bizarre RPG elements in Angel of Darkness... opens door "Ah, my arm feels stronger now", still no one's explained that). According to the opening sequence Lara lost her mum while out on an expedition in the Himalayan Mountains. She found a Baui rock, which exploded, killing her mum, but revealing a sword hidden within it. She has ever since searched tombs looking for another Baui rock. At the beginning of Puzzle Paradox you find Lara about to explore an Incan temple. What follows is a series of puzzles which will eventually lead Lara to the rock and reveal why the last one she held killed her mother. As the game is mainly a puzzle game you can expect a lot of top down views with many varied mini games. Just to mention a few, we came across a Sudoku style game played with crystals, a light refraction game and a few others. As with most puzzle games, the controls largely depends upon the puzzle. Overall the game is very good as you'd expect from an experienced publisher with each control scheme seeming intuitive to the point where only a few people are ever going to need to look up the instructions in order to complete the puzzle. One of the best features of the game is the fact that because it is mainly mini puzzle games you don't have to worry about rushing a level or losing your progress because you need to either leave the train or bus sharpish or hide the phone before the boss comes around the corner. As for replay value, with each game being different you're sure to be find new stuff in the game each time you play. Lara Croft is somewhat of a status symbol for the games industry, the third superstar after Mario and Sonic it was somewhat enviable that her name would be used in a puzzle style game. Thankfully because the game was handled by the experienced hands at Eidos and not farmed out like some other licenses you can be sure the game lives up to the standards of Lara Croft's previous adventures. If you're after a quick puzzler with a familiar feel to it then you can't go too wrong with Lara Croft's latest adventure. Tomb Raider Puzzle Paradox mobile phone game is compatible with the following: Nokia 3100 / 3120 / 3200 / 3220 / 3230 / 3250 / 3300 / 3510i / 3560 / 3586i / 3595 / 3600 / 3650 / 5100 / 6010 / 6020 / 6021 / 6100 / 6101 / 6102 / 6111 / 6170 / 6200 / 6220 / 6230 / 6230i / 6260 / 6270 / 6280 / 6600 / 6610 / 6610i / 6620 / 6630 / 6670 / 6680 / 6681 / 6800 / 6810 / 6820 / 6822 / 7200 / 7210 / 7250 / 7250i / 7260 / 7270 / 7600 / 7610 / 7650 / 8800 / 8910i / N70 / N80 / N90 / N91 / Alcatel 756 / Sharp 902 / 903 / GX 22 / GX 25 / GX10 / GX10i / GX15 / GX20 / GX30 / GX30i / TM 100 / Motorola A1000 / C380 / C650 / C975 / C980 / E1000 / E398 / E550 / E770v / L6 / L7 / PEBL U6 / PEBL V6 / RAZR V3x / Rokr / V1050 / V180 / V188 / V220 / V3 / V300 / V400 / V500 / V525 / V535 / V545 / V547 / V550 / V551 / V600 / V635 / V80 / V975 / V980 / LG C1100 / C1200 / C1500 / C2000 / C2200 / F2100 / F2400 / U8110 / U8120 / U8130 / U8138 / U8180 / U8330 / U8360 / U8380 / U880 / Siemens C65 / C66 / C75 / CX65 / CX70 / CX75 / M65 / M75 / S65 / S75 / SP65 / Samsung D500 / D500e / D600 / E105 / E330 / E350 / E350E / E370 / E630 / E700 / E710 / E715 / E730 / E760 / E800 / E820 / P400 / P510 / X460 / X640 / X660 / X800 / Z105 / Z107 / Z140 / Z500 / Z500V / ZV10 / Sony Ericsson D750i / F500i / J300i / K300i / K500 / K500i / K508i / K600 / K608i / K700 / K700i / K750i / S700i / S710a / T610 / T616 / T618 / T630 / T637 / V600 / V600i / V800 / W550i / W800i / W900i / Z1010 / Z500a / Z520a / Z520i / Z600 / Z800 / NEC e228 / e313 / e338 / e616 / Sagem My C5-2 / MY S-7 / My V65 / My Z-5 / MyV-55 / MYV-56 / MyV-75 / Sendo SV 663 / Panasonic X400 / X60 / [Only Registered users can see links .
