Hi, I am a gaming freak n love to play games. Please tell me which phone is best for playing games and music. Currently I have w950i but this phone is not very good at playing games especially java games. It is good on playing music though.
Please suggest me a good gaming phone because I am going to change this phone. Currently I am looking forward for N81-8GB. Is it a good deal? Please help me out. Phone with hardware specs would be appreciated. |

Okay, IMHO, the best gaming phone is the Nokia N70 Music Edition.
Why? Well, let's get started with the fact that it is after all, a Music Edition phone. It specializes in playing audio, and it comes with a 1G RS-DV-MMC, and according to more detailed statistics from good ol' Wikipedia, the biggest size for this MMC is 2G. It has decent notably much better sounding speakers (well, at least compared to other S60v2 phones) and anyway it comes with a headset, the AD-41 which allows you to use your own 3.5mm earphones. Convenient, much. Doesn't that handle enough music needs? ^^ Okay, now, off to the games, and why you should choose a cheaper but more...game-able model instead of the N81 8G. Basically, the big difference when it comes to gaming is the Symiban versions. The OS of N70 ME is "BB5 / Symbian OS v8.1a, S60 Platform Second Edition, Feature Pack 2" as compared to N81's OS, "Symbian OS 9.2, S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 1". Now, most would prefer a better, more updated...and shinier OS and phone (I'll have to admit, looking at that N81...wow) would be great, but if you're a knowledgeable user when it comes to games, there's a huge gap. Oh, btw, N70 ME has a lot of RAM compared to other S60v2 phones. In this gap, there are several advantages and disadvantages. Here's like...some...outline-something to help you out. =) -=N70 ME=- -Able to handle a wide variety of Java/Symbian applications ranging from S60v1 to S60v2 -Also, many themes are available for download to make your phone look...awesome -The wide range of apps also means a wide range of Symbian games, all exclusive to S60v1-S60v2 -Able to handle most/3D Java games well because of the RAM size (32 MB) -Take note of this one if you really want to go gaming: THE FIRST N-GAGE PLATFORM IS SOMEWHAT SUPPORTED ON THIS PHONE (put bluntly, THPS, Asphalt 2 and most of all the awesome N-Gage games are playable on this phone...although, you'll have to go through a bunch of procedures to get them working, but IMO it's worth it) -=N81=- (I'll have to be honest, I dunno much about the phone, so these details are Wiki'd o_o) -S60v3 = A new, blooming OS and new and updated apps and games are currently in the works for it -HECK LOT OF RAM (96 MB, Wiki), compared to the older OS -Well fine, better sound quality from the built-in speakers... -The normal version has a MicroSD slot, but the one you might get has built-in 8G Internal Flash Memory...wow, actually (although, no more MicroSD slot; You might not need it anyway XD) -Even shinier themes -Note for gaming? Here: THE NEXT-GEN N-GAGE PLATFORM (2.0) IS ON THIS PHONE, ALLOWING YOU TO PLAY NEW GENERATION N-GAGE GAMES WITH A SPECIAL APP (although, they're still in the making...enjoy the Asphalt 3 Demo though ^^) SUMMARY: If you want instant awesome gaming (but, not updated much), music and a cheaper buy? Get the N70 ME. If you want to be updated, whilst having the high-end applications, games, huge memory and naturally shiny design, especially the N-GAGE 2.0 Platform, but willing to wait for all of these to come out, get the N81 8G. ... Yes, I own an N70 ME. ^^ But it's up to you, to see the honest opinions of our fellow users here in Noeman and use them to make your decision easier. Good luck, and I hope you are satisfied with whatever you'll get. |

a large screen phone, double processor and built-in gpu for 3d... , do not abuse installation in phone memory but rather in external... keep your installation few and choose your games specifically for what you need... always full charge when playing... play with no sound...
do not use headphones or external accessories... nokia prefer n81 bcoz of its speakers... play with keypads not the dpad... and most of all... choose a phone that has more compatible games... that is the secret... if you like the specific game... browse it on the maker site and look for its compatible phone, for there you will have an idea which phone is most popular for the mobile games in the market... |

First it's better to be SymbianOS
...s60v3 platform has largest scale of supported apps... You shoudn't waste money on nokia phones with GPU(those phones are the best, but there is no much of apps that support OpenGL-ES///even your UIQ3 has more 3D accelerated apps developped for it ///) So any phone with ARM9 processor will be a good choice(like N81,N5700 and many other).
