for the people out there to update there firmware thru nokia updater i would like to put in a word of caution"DONT TRY TO UPDATE UNLESS U HAVE A STABLE AND CONTINOUS POWER SUPPLY(UPS/INVERTOR),DONT DISCONNECT THE DATA CABLE WHILE UPDATE PROCESS IS ON,RATHER I WOULD SAY DONT VENTURE INTO IT UNLESS U HAVE A VALID WARRANTY"
i tried to update my n73's FW but it was interrupted dut to some reason and my phone went dead , i gave it to nokia care center for repair thinkin its a minor software problem and it il be fixed with reflashing but they took 2 weeks to tell me that it was major hardware problem(IC)and was irreparable and today they replaced the set with new one.although i got back my set but the 2 weeks when i had to part with my set were mirerable. so i think my experence will help and make u guys think twice take wise dicision before updatin... |

I would agree totally. I upgraded my N95 firmware a while back - and my pc hard drive made funny noises part way through - boy did I sweat!
If your pc or operating system is in any way unstable - i'd recommend against it.. If in doubt, use a pc that is known to be 100% stable (if there is such a thing!) I was lucky, my upgrade completed succesfully - but I did panic a bit! |
