here is what to do if your copy isnt leagel
You can easily bypass WGA and download from Microsoft download without having to run Windows Genuine Advantage. Follow these steps For Internet Explorer users: * You'll need to download trixie and the relevant user script . Simply download the .js file and drop it into trixie's scripts\ folder. * Fire up Internet Explorer (32-bit) and click Tools > Trixie Options. You should see WGA Workaround. If it's not already checked, check it. Uncheck the others if you don't want to use them (recommended). * Visit Microsoft Downloads to test it out! For Mozilla Suite/Firefox users: * You'll need to download greasemonkey and the relevant user script. Simply download the .js file to a temporary location (like the Desktop), drag it onto a Mozilla Suite/Firefox window and click Tools > Install User Script. Keep the defaults. * Visit Microsoft Downloads to test it out! DOWNLOAD Code: [Only Registered users can see links . Click Here To Register...] [Only Registered users can see links . The WGA workround wit Trixie didnt work for me but I found another way.
If you don't pass WGA validation, download [Only Registered users can see links . Click Here To Register...] which should be a RAR file containing the legitcontrolcheck DLL. Make sure IE is not running, then rename the legitcontrolcheck.dll in \windows\system32 and put the new legitcontrolcheck.dll in there. Now you can install IE7. Enjoy.
