X360 Back-Compat Update Soon
ARTICLE EXTRACTS TAKEN FROM eurogamer.net
ARTICLE WRITTEN by Tom Bramwell
Talk on the Gamerscoreblog, written by folks at Microsoft, is that it could be here soon. "We hear directly from them that they're in the testing phase of another update, and it should be out in the next few weeks. We saw the list they're testing, and it looks like they're hoping to add at least a dozen titles," an update reads.
Said blog goes on to reiterate Moore's surprise at the number of games compatible. "We under promised and over delivered on that," Moore had said. "I'm just stunned that we have hundreds of games that are backwards compatible."
Gamerscoreblog concurs: "Long before the launch, we thought we might hit a few dozen titles, and we all feel pretty good about the list of well over 200 titles on the back compat list today, including many of the games that you've asked for. You all have heard us say the work isn't simple. Many games did unique things to take advantage of the processing power of the Xbox, and that makes it difficult to emulate, especially when we then have to make new code work with existing (and future) compatible titles."
"But rest assured, we're not done yet."

Moore On Backwards Compat
Xbox exec Peter Moore has gone on record to clear up confusion over comments he made recently regarding Xbox 360 backwards compatibility.
Speaking to Microsoft's Larry Hryb - otherwise known as Major Nelson - Moore said: "My words... That nobody's concerned about backwards compat were misinterpreted as no one cares about backwards compat; that's not the case at all.
"I want to be clear that my comments were not about nobody cares - of course we care, and we're going to continue to try and get as close as we can to our stated target of every Xbox game being backcompat to the 360, and I'm hopeful we get there."
According to Moore, the "emulation ninjas" are constantly working to add new titles to the list of games which will play on both the Xbox and Xbox 360. Next week will see the release of an update which adds another 20 games to the list - and while Moore wouldn't give too much away, he did say: "I can tell you two titles... Doom 3 and Lego Star Wars. Those will both be part of the list and there's a lot more than that."
