can u help me plz? what will happen to my iphone if while using redsnow to jailbreak the firware, the phone phone batter goes dead when it is at the rebooting stage?

first my battery died out in my iphone 2G
i got a battery replacement and installed it
after this the red battery was the only thing coming up when i put it to charge
when i connected it to the computer the red battery comes up too but some how it doesn't seem as if the battery is charging any at all
i left the phone to charge for a day but all was on it is just the red battery, saying charging.\
i tried to power it but it didn't respond
i tried to restore it but itunes is saying that their is a error(23)
with all my failed attempts to restore it i trinded the redsnow application on it nut when it reaches reboot stage it turns off
plz note that when ever i disconnect it from the power source or tyhe computer it turns of and the LCD fades out. i can still see the images in the LCD before they totally fade out.
i tried restoring after and itunes is saying that the memory is full and that i should reset the phone and delete stuff in the recycle bin to free space but i havn't been able to turn the phone on since the battery died out in side it.

presently when i connect it to the power source it comes on with the apple sign for about 5 sec then it fades out and comes on back again after 1 sec and it repeats this turning on and of. when i tery to put it in restore mode with the power cable in (by holding down the home key) the itunes logo and the usb cable comes up but if i remove it from the power it turns off.
when i try to restore after the jailbreak failor it isnt even lighting up as before( a white screen used to come up before)
the last time i trried to restore it itunes gave an error with the code (1601 unknown error)
