well may be that's one kind of therapy but real detox means that in 1 or 2 weeks as you said is enough for your body to get rid of the toxins that you are used to ,cocaine, heroin.alcohol and so on, in many cases some drugs are used to relive anxiety and to help cope with the phisical symptoms of the withdrawl that often are ,cramps vomiting constpation sweats imsomnia and of course pain, they try to get you to eat natural and healthy food (sometimes) to speed up this process it will work if you can get rid of the psychologycal causes that got you there (not an easy task) this may take years sometimes, if not your body will be free of the toxins but your mind may think different and a relapse is not uncommon
i hope this helps.. ![]()

ok my friend i've work with addictions for more than 20 years and in my experience if you dont have a cognitive (psychologycal) change you will be in and out of detox all your life detox is only the first stage if you have physical adiction but it's only the first, and easier (if you want) step in recovery, the psychologycal implications are by far more difficult to treat and start by the subject wanting to change and submitting to a much longer treatment but many many subjects do succeed in kicking the habit and some other never do ..that is a fact
![]() detox in the end help you by cleaning you body of the toxins...for this it works it gets rid of the physical part of the addiction for the other part... not so much
